Our school is located in the heart of San Dimas, CA. We offer multiple disciplines of Martial Arts which include Taekwondo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Our location offers quick and easy commutes from our neighboring cities of Glendora, La Verne, Pomona, Covina, West Covina, Azusa, Montclair, and the Via Verde area.
While we are new to this school here in San Dimas, we have been managing and instructing other facilities in Orange County for the past 17 years. We hope that we now can spread our wealth of knowledge and experience to Los Angeles County.
Our program at Core Martial Arts has been developed through years of research and experience, and we feel we have something to offer any person interested in improving their overall quality of life. Whether it be for emotional or physical benefits, we will help you achieve your goals. No experience is necessary and all levels and ages are welcome.
From a discipline standpoint, we offer a well rounded training program. Our Taekwondo program (often referred to as TKD or Tae Kwon Do) has dynamic kicking and punching which separates and distinguishes itself from it's predecessor known as Karate. Taekwondo is known throughout the world as one of most popular forms of martial arts. With it's self defense techniques, TKD is known for it's offensive and it's defensive aspects. With dynamic angles and explosive moves, tae kwon do is a comprehensive discipline to protect yourself from a standing position.
Our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (often referred to as BJJ or Jiu Jitsu) rounds out our complete martial arts program. While taekwondo is thought of from a standing position, BJJ is the other half. Most all self defense situations start from a standing position, traditionally, if an attacker is not extinguished quickly, the situation will continue to a ground position. That is where BJJ comes into play. Taekwondo and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu compliment each other. Jiu Jitsu is a ground based submission defense system. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is the evolution of combined sports using grappling techniques such as wrestling, judo, and Sambo (self defense without weapons). The sport is specifically designed as self defense on the ground. No matter such as which martial discipline may interest you, Taekwondo or Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, we offer both in our school for all of your fitness and self defense needs.
Our instructors have affiliations with all the major Taekwondo Associations and Organizations. Those include WTF (World Taekwondo Federation), ATA (American Taekwondo Association), STF (Songhaem Taekwondo Federation), USTA (United States Taekwondo Association), and ATF (American Taekwondo Federation). All these organization make for a nice blend of skills and experience. The most important of these is WTF (World Tae Kwon Do Federation) because of Kukkiwon, which is the World Headquarters for the governing body of Taekwondo. Also, through these various organizations, TKD is recognized as an Olympic Sport.
Our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu affiliations run from many organizations as well. We are recognized by the IBJJF (International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation). While we associate ourselves in this organization, we also participate in Sport Jiu-Jitsu International Federation sanctioned events as well. With the popularity of this sport, there are so many avenues that some of our students and sparring partners can take. Jiu-JItsu has been the foundation in which many students have used to become professional MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) fighters or even had the opportunity to appear in a UFC match.
It is our sincere hope that you will choose to be a part of our Martial Art Family here at Core Martial Arts. For our contact information please click here.
